Overview

Live CE Webinar: April 8th, 2026, 7:30-9:00 PM ET

Oral diseases, particularly periodontal disease, are chronic inflammatory conditions with systemic implications that extend beyond the oral cavity. Emerging research continues to demonstrate strong associations between oral inflammation and systemic conditions such as diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, adverse pregnancy outcomes, respiratory infections, and cognitive decline.

This course examines the biological pathways linking oral and systemic health and explores how daily oral hygiene practices function as preventive interventions. Participants will review current evidence, discuss implications for clinical practice, and develop strategies to communicate the importance of daily oral care as an essential component of whole-body health.

Emphasis will be placed on inflammation control, patient education, risk assessment, and the role of the dental professional in advancing preventive medicine through routine oral health practices.
